Jerry and Sandy Wong, the founders of Hula Grill, Hula Fire Grill, Hula Grill Express and now Hula’s Asian Hawaiian BBQ, were born and raised in small towns in Hawaii – much like Williston.
They brought with them not only her talents in the kitchen, but also the tradition of Ohana (family) first, their sense of community, and the Spirit of Aloha to North Dakota. “Aloha” means more than just “hello” or “goodbye,” it also means “joyfully sharing life.” It is with this Spirit of Aloha that Sandy cooks her unique dishes – an eclectic blend of Asian, American and Hawaiian spices, prepared with an island flair and served with a heavy dose of Hawaiian hospitality.
Keeping the Hawaiian traditions of an Ohana style restaurants, Hula’s Asian Hawaiian BBQ food is not fancy – just simple, lots of it, and “ONO” (good). Being a part of this community, caring about our customers, and serving the best food in town are neither our mission nor our passion… at Hula’s Asian Hawaiian BBQ, it is our OBSESSION. It is with this obsession that Sandy, Jerry and our Hula’s Asian Hawaiian BBQ Ohana welcomes you to be our guest…..to be a part of our Ohana.

“E Komo Mai”…. “Welcome, come on in.”
